New Years Resolution - Rick Beneteau
If
you are anything like me, Christmas is a time for introspection. For
looking inward, reflecting deeply on where I am as the New Year
approaches. For looking backward at the past year - its heights and
valleys, its lessons hopefully learned. For looking towards the future and
applying the wisdom I have accumulated from yesterday to the promise of
tomorrow. And always, counting the many blessings I have attracted into my
life. Having you read my words is among the most precious I have received.
Personally,
I've never really made New Years Resolutions per se. Like the true Virgo,
I already think too much. Guess I tend to improve-on-the-go or at least
try to, questioning every little decision and my motives behind it as I
move from point A to B. This might not work for most people but
regardless, I had the good fortune of being able to express my core
beliefs in a moment of what I felt was true inspiration a few months ago.
Some
may have already read this somewhere, but I would like to share it with
all of you here. I would be honored to have you read what I call The

If
I may, the most appropriate way for me to close my year-end column is to
leave you with the words of one of my few real mentors, Wallace D.
Wattles. Few people realize that this man was truly the inspiration behind
most modern day preachers of positive thinking. In 1903, he wrote: "I
appropriate to myself the power to become what I want to be, and to do
what I want to do. I exercise creative energy; all the power there is
mine. I will arise and go forward with power and perfect confidence; I
will do excellent works in the strength of the Supreme, my God. I will
trust and not fear, for Spirit is with me".
My
wish for you is to make giant strides and have yourself a New Year's
Revolution.
